We have loved putting together these 2016 Wedding Trends together for our readers. Below is beautiful, visual inspiration to inspire our couples – go on take a look and leave us some love!

First things First….Food

We have been seeing an upward rise in wedding food that breaks the norm of a traditional 3 course seated meal. Depending on the formality and style of the wedding of course, we are seeing couples opting for food trucks with a gourmet spin; think wood fired artisan pizzas, slow cooked spatchcock rotisserie chicken and gourmet burgers all with delicious accompaniments. Some couples may even choose to have two different types of food trucks at their wedding to allow guests a choice.

For couples still wanting a formal dining experience for their guests, we are getting more and more requests for artisan food trucks to deliver mouth-watering evening food to help soak up the cocktails and wine of the day!

Dessert tables

The trend for couples opting out of traditional desserts in favour of beautifully arranged dessert tables is on the rise. Who wouldn’t want to choose from an assortment of delicious sweet bites at their leisure?!

Styling

Much to our delight at Eden & Eve, we are seeing a return to nature in the styling of our 2016 weddings; bringing the outside inside with an emphasis on greens, creams and blushes. We love the styling we are seeing this year as it is a return to understated beauty where greenery and foliage comes to the forefront, but is intercepted with soft hues of pinks and creams – understated, not uninspired!

Lighting

Though we wouldn’t neccesarily say that ‘lighting’ is a trend for 2016, it is an element of a modern day wedding that is becoming more popular and an element of a wedding that couples appreciate spending part of the all important budget on it. Well designed, clever lighting can transform your wedding venue space into something truly beautiful. Whether your budget stretches only as far as a sea of inexpensive tea lights or you go to town using chandeliers, festoon lighting and dappled lighting, there is something to be achieved in every wedding.

Flowers

Word on the floral scene, is that blush pink, green, cream and marsala are BIG colour trends for wedding flowers this year. We love the colour pop of marsala against soft, blousey pinks! Cascading bridal bouquets are the bouquet of choice amongst 2016 brides – an effortless style with a wild, organic flare. We also expect to see layered ribbon accents again to complement the hand tied nature of the 2016 bouquet.

And finally the Dresses…

There were some key bridal trends that were prominent on the catwalks for 2016. The first of these was shown beautifully by the likes of Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier and Angel Sanchez; the 3D applique floral trend. For some brides, this trend may be too fussy, but for those brides wanting to keep all the attention on the dress, this trend could be perfect for you.

A trend that we adore is inspired by the timeless fairytale, Cinderella/ Princess overlays. As you can imagine, brides embracing this style will be swathed in tulle, but instead of full bodied skirts with nipped in corset waists, this trend will embrace column shaped dresses with amazing princess inspired overlays. If your waist is your best asset, then this trend is for you – just make sure the fit is just like a glass slipper – perfect just for you! Designers who we think rocked this look include, Monique Lhuilier, Reem Acra and Carolina Herrera.

For those of your beautiful brides wanting to look demure from the front but show maybe a little more skin, the next trend will be perfect for you; the sexy back. For an ultra low back, look to designers such as Temperley, Lela Rose and Marchesa.
